Früiio, Inc. ("Früiio," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use the Früiio app and website, why we collect it, and how you can exercise control over it.
By using Früiio, you agree to the practices described here. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please do not use our services.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create a Früiio account, we collect your name, email address or phone number, and optionally a profile photo and username.
Plant Data
We store your plant catalog entries, including plant names, photos you upload, care logs, notes, and any plant identification requests you submit through Vera AI.
Usage Information
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the app — pages visited, features used, tap patterns, and session duration. This helps us improve Früiio.
Device & Technical Information
We collect device identifiers, operating system version, app version, IP address, and crash reports. This information is used for security and performance monitoring.
Communications
If you contact our support team, we retain those messages to resolve your issue and improve our service.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Früiio app and its features
- Personalize your experience, including feed recommendations and Vera AI responses
- Process payments and manage Premium subscriptions via Stripe
- Send transactional messages (magic-link emails, account alerts, billing receipts)
- Send optional product updates and community digests — you can opt out at any time
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
We use aggregated, anonymized data to understand broad usage trends and publish general statistics about our community.
How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the limited circumstances described below. We do not sell your data.
Service Providers
We work with third-party vendors to operate Früiio: cloud infrastructure (Supabase/AWS), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, crash reporting, and analytics. These vendors access only the data they need to perform their function and are bound by data processing agreements.
Public Content
Posts, plant collections, and badges you set to "public" in your profile settings are visible to other Früiio users. Your username and profile photo may appear alongside your public content.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Früiio or others.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
Vera AI & Your Plant Data
Vera is Früiio's plant intelligence assistant. When you submit a plant photo for identification or ask Vera a care question, we process that data to generate a response.
Photos submitted to Vera are used solely to produce your identification result. They are not shared with other users or used to train external AI models without your explicit consent.
Vera's responses are generated by a large language model. While we work hard to ensure accuracy, Vera can make mistakes. Always verify important plant care decisions with a qualified botanist or horticulturalist.
We may use aggregated, anonymized Vera interaction data — with all identifying information removed — to improve identification accuracy over time.
Community Content
Content you post publicly on Früiio (photos, captions, comments, plant collections) is visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines. Even after deletion, some content may persist briefly in caches or third-party indexes beyond our control.
Other users may screenshot or share your public posts. We encourage you to post only what you are comfortable being seen broadly.
Cookies & Tracking
Früiio uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to:
- Keep you signed in across sessions
- Remember your preferences (language, theme, notification settings)
- Understand aggregate usage patterns through analytics
- Prevent fraud and ensure security
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect app functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across third-party websites.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for legal or compliance purposes (typically up to 7 years for financial records).
Anonymized, aggregated data — which cannot identify you — may be retained indefinitely for product research.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your information: encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, row-level security controls on our database, and regular security reviews.
No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@fruiio.com.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (right to erasure)
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to certain types of processing, including direct marketing
- Restriction: Ask us to restrict processing under certain circumstances
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@fruiio.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
California residents may have additional rights under CCPA. EU/UK residents have rights under GDPR. We honor both frameworks globally.
Children's Privacy
Früiio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Third-Party Services
Früiio may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as social sharing or app stores). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email to your registered address at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of Früiio after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
